Meet Artist Jane deForest
Jane is deeply moved by the suffering of so many on this planet in these troubled times. She knows that through focused prayer and thought, in all its forms, we as a whole can heal, and be empowered to change. Her painting is a form of prayer -- both the act of creating it, and the mindful contemplation of it.
Jane attended Interlochen Arts Academy and Rhode Island School of Design. She built her thriving business soon after, at an early age -- her talent and fortitude served her well.
A profound epiphany in 1994 shifted Jane's focus from the work-a-day world to a personal spiritual path. Jane became fascinated by the profound Truth embodied in all spiritual traditions -- an understanding that inspired her to study the World's religions.
It became abundantly clear to Jane that the Gift she was blessed with was best used as a vehicle for the Highest Good. She would dream of Angels and Fairies. In meditation, she would "get" images of the transcendent energy that surrounds us all. Over and over, the messages spoke to her of hope, of protection, and of how we are all connected in a web of Life -- all part of a Whole -- a Whole that is part of God (paradox intended).
It is from deep in this place of the Mystical that Jane creates.
Philosophy
The Ancients knew what is only now being discovered by modern science: consciousness has a profound influence on the physical world. Thinking loving and beautiful thoughts changes the body's chemistry and improves the immune system. In the same way, thinking hateful and resentful thoughts weakens the body. Truly great art is both transformational and beautiful. Great art has the power to heal on both a personal and a Universal level. Art in its highest form is one path to the Divine; it is a Light in the darkness.
Art is truly bigger than the person who has created it.
Mission
Jane's mission is to communicate about the Divine Mystery that informs all life. To bring awareness about the spiritual Energies that are invisible to everyday sight. To bring hope and to help alleviate suffering in the world in her small way…and to have a lot of fun creating and painting!
Giving
A portion of each sale is donated to charity.
